Running into celebrities is pretty neat. But the thing about running into minor celebrities is they're considerably more excited about it than you are, and this is sometimes awkward***; then again, if the celebrity is too major, their noticing you noticing who they are can yield undesirable consequences. The trick is to strike a balance and try and run into mid-level celebrities, who are about as excited about the rendezvous as you are. Good choices include author Tom Wolfe and part-time Comedian Jon Lovitz.

***Whoever the actor is that plays Frankie Five Angels in Godfather II is a notable exception. He is a beautiful man with knuckles of an angel and a therapeutic rapport; he convincingly responds to "Frankie" or "Pentangeli."
